A Bit About Me
(Art Interrupted)

Born and raised in Gary, Indiana in 1952. Four years of art class, 2 years of mechanical drawing in high school was the foundation of my visual art training. In 1975 I earned a BFA from Indiana State University in Sculpture and Painting. In those days ISU had a phenomenal foundry where we learned to cast in bronze using old world, lost wax techniques. The Painting department was quite progressive for an under the radar midwestern university. The school’s claim to fame is clearly all about Larry Bird, not its Art School. I thought it was excellent. I have 3 Figural Pieces, Bronze, (PM-53713, 1973) in the Indiana State University, Permanent Art Collection (PAC).
Like countless others, life events happened and using my formal art training took a little bypass, in my case 43 years. I had a successful career in industrial sales. First came retirement, then the pandemic, I started painting again in 2020.
